Combat and Our Damage System Empty Combat and Our Damage System

This site uses a slightly modified version of the Rules from Vampire:The Masquerade v3

What's different?
We let you use Celerity in the round you spend the BP...and allow you to add it to your Initiative Raiting...the only catch, once you declare the use of Celerity, you have to use it. No changing your mind unless you want to burn WP, but either way, you spent the BP to use it or not.

As for damage, we dont use lethal damage against Vampires.  All damage is either Bashing or Aggrivated. What about a gun shot to the head? You are gonna take that whole thing as bashing.  What if I get my character's head cut off? Well, he or she has automatically met final death at that point and it's time to roll up a new sheet...same with getting your heart ripped out of your chest...save for the very,  very, very rare Setites allowed in Avalon. Other than that, you get a tank dropped on you, shot 100 times, impaled on a spike, or slapped across the face by a white glove with a brick inside of it, ala bugs bunny cartoons...you are going to take bashing damage till you fall torpid.

What about aggrivated damage? Well, that sucks, doesn't it? Fangs and claws and fire and a scant few other things do Aggrivated damage to vampires. These wounds fester and burn and take 1 full day and 5 BP to heal one point.  That part is core rules...I get it...but here is the difference...if your charcter has Fortitude,  consider this damage as bashing.

"Hey, that all sounds unfare...Celerity in its round and Fortitude cancels aggrivated damage?" ...yes, it is unfare, but anyone whose ever been in any kinda fight will tell you, when it's life or death, there is no such thing as fare...any advantage you can get you take.

As for healing, this come right out of the book..."A vampire may spend one blood point to heal one normal (bashing or lethal) health level of damage. Characters must be
resting and relatively inactive for this healing to take place, though this recovery is rapid: One blood point per turn may be
spent to heal one health level, though vampires of lower generations may heal as many health levels per turn as they can
spend blood points. See the Generation Chart for details on this.
Note that blood expenditure is the only way that vampires can heal wounds. Just as their immortality prevents the Kindred
from aging and dying naturally, so it also inhibits the recuperative processes natural to a living body."

IE: if you don't spend the BP to heal, you stay damaged. There is no auto-heal feature. That said, the Vampiric form can heal from amazing and truely frightening levels of damage.

What if I get an arm lobbed off? So long as it wasn't by feral claws or werewolf claws, or burnt off by a flamethrower, you can heal it with BP. Each limb being worth 3 BP to restore.  The lost limb turning to ash or rotten mess depending on your age...
((That said, healing from or ignoring this kind of damage in public is a huge breach of the Masquerade, some times it's smarter to play dead than get shot up and keep moving...but if you leave no witnesses, that can have a terrifying effect on whoever shot you.))

Combat and Our Damage System Empty Re: Combat and Our Damage System

ST Note: as of November 2nd, 2016 (Dia de los Muertos) we are changing the damage system.up slightly...

Vampires will now start to take Lethal Damage in a way.

While we said all damage was considered bashing for the Vampires, meaning that they could heal it like normal...that part hasn't changed...but now we will be adding the addendum that what would be considered Letal damage, Swords,  Knives, Bullets to the head or heart, hits with Potence to head or heart, will not be halved when taking the hit without the use of Fortitude.   As well, Fortitude will absorb Aggrivated damage into Lethal for immortals...mortals, like your ghouls, are still screwed if you hurt them with lethal and Aggrivated damage.
